Requirements

- Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) configured
- Proper date, time, and timezone set on device

Instructions
Download Certificates
- If necessary, unplug your wired Ethernet connection.
- Connect to the WPI-Open wireless network.
- Open your browser and navigate to
https://w.wpi.edu
. - Select Setup My WPI WiFi.
- At the bottom of the page, change Select your device type to User-Defined.
- Click Sign In.
- Login with your WPI credentials.
- At Create Wireless Certificate:
- Enter a user description - make and model of the device is acceptable.
- Enter the WiFi MAC Address; use hyphens or colons in the MAC Address (XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX or XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX).
- Click Create.
- Enter a user description - make and model of the device is acceptable.
- Provide a new password.
- The password must be at least 6 characters and have at least one Number, Uppercase and Lowercase letter.
- Password should not be the same as your WPI credentials

- Click P12 to download your file.
Configuration
- Open the downloaded file and walk through the steps in the Import Certificate wizard. Provide the password used when downloading the certificate.
- Open the Control Panel on your machine and select the Network and Internet settings.
- Click on the Network and Sharing Center option.
- Under the Set up a new connection or network section, click the Set up a new connection or network option.
- Select the Manually connect to a wireless network option and click Next.
- Enter either WPI-Wireless or eduroam as the network SSID name .
- Use the drop-down menu to select Security type of WPA2-Enterprise and then click Next.
- Select Change connection settings.
- Navigate to the Security tab.
- Change Choose a network authentication method to Microsoft: Smart Card or other certificate
- Click Settings.
- Scroll down the Trusted Root Certification Authorities and check both WPI NetOps certificates. Click Ok, then Ok again, and then Close.
- Attempt to connect to WPI-Wireless or eduroam in the normal way by clicking the Network icon in the lower right System Tray and selecting the network.
- The action should prompt you to choose a certificate ; if it does not, repeat this step and you may find the prompt.
Note:
Disable MAC Randomization
- Press on the Network Icon in the bottom right of the task bar.
- Open Network Settings (or Network & Internet Settings).
- Open the Wi-Fi tab.
- Select Off under Random Hardware Address.
- Restart your machine
