Overview
Alumni who have received either an undergraduate or graduate degree (not a certificate) and who graduated after 2016 will keep their email account. Degree-holding alumni who graduated before 2016 can have an @alum.wpi.edu account. Alumni accounts will require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). See the Articles section in Related Items for more about MFA.
Keeping the Account Active
To avoid security issues, email accounts will be disabled or deleted if they are not used. Activity is defined as logging into the mailbox. Forwarding email to another account does not count as activity. Accounts will be disabled if they are inactive for 1 year, and deleted if they are inactive for 2 years.
Address Books
Alums only see other alums in their address book (@alum.wpi.edu or @wpi.edu).
Employment
If alums become employees of WPI, they will keep their current @wpi.edu email address. Since email accounts are closed when employees leave WPI, if an alum no longer works at WPI, a new @wpi.edu account will be created.
@alum.wpi.edu Email
Login with your @alum.wpi.edu email address and password through Outlook Online. You can Access the Outlook Web App using the Action item above.
For first time access to an @alum.wpi.edu account or to update alum email account passwords, use Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR). See Related Items > Articles for more about SSPR.
Your verification method was configured by Information Technology using your alternate email at the time of creation.
