Michael Echols has had a long career in cybersecurity and is passionate about recruiting people from historically underrepresented groups to the field. 

During his career, he spent 7 years at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). One of the highlights of his time there was being the point person for the rollout of Presidential Executive Order 13691 for President Obama, which focused on promoting private sector cyber information sharing.

After working for the federal government, he founded his own cybersecurity consulting firm, Max Cybersecurity.
