Cherwell is being upgraded to version 10.0.2 to take advantage if important improvements.
Hub.wpi.edu will not display existing tickets and assets, and new ones cannot be created during the maintenance. Cherwell desktop client and web client will also be unavailable.
An important feature in the upgrade fixes an issue identified by the WPI ITSM Team with emails that appear blank.
Please save work and logout of Cherwell prior to the maintenance. Cherwell will be unavailable for login while the server is upgraded by Cherwell Support. Details contains instructions for after the upgrade.
Following the upgrade, the new package for the client will be deployed via SCCM. (A login to an outdated version will prompt for an upgrade.)
- Web client needs no user action. (Installing this as a hub.wpi.edu favorite from the WPI Applications Marketplace is the best method of using the most updated version.)
- IT-managed client will be installed automatically on computers connected to the WPI domain. (You may either leave your computer connected to the WPI VPN, or for those disconnected, installation will occur upon WPI VPN reconnect.)
- Self-managed install will prompt user to upgrade. Cherwell Auto Deploy can be used if your computer is no longer running TRAPS.
