Echo360 will not capture the projector output when the signal chain flows from a Mac laptop or device through the HDMI connector to the projector.

Mac laptops and devices send an HDCP (high definition copyright protection) encryption through the signal chain. While such content will display on the projectors in WPI classrooms, the Echo360 recording will fail, as indicated by a green screen.

Even if the content emanating from the Apple device is not copyright protected, the HDCP encryption persists and Echo360 will not capture it.

Workarounds include using the Solstice pod in the classroom, changing the screen resolution of the Mac laptop or device to 1024 x 768, using an HDMI to VGA adaptor, or migrating content to the podium PC.
