Regular Fixed-Term Position (RFT) is a benefited position with a specified employment end date. The reason for the end date includes, but not limited to, appointment terms, funding, and duration of assignment.  

RFT position is funded from non-operating funds and a funding source has to be provided before the position is approved.

  • Talent Strategy Partner (TSP) notifies department about the upcoming end date of the RFT position 2 months in advance. 
  • If no response received from department, TSP sends a reminder 1 month before the end date of RFT. 
  • If no response received from department, TSP notifies department that RFT position will be closed immediately upon the end date unless funding source is provided. 

*Operating Budget cannot be used as an interim funding source for RFT positions.
