Recommendations and Support:

Alumni email forwarding service is fully supported by WPI ITS (instructions below).

Approaching graduation, undergraduate and graduate students will be asked to provide a forwarding email address to facilitate their email transition to an alumni email account.

For all other accounts WPI ITS neither recommends nor supports forwarding email. If an active account holder with a WPI email address chooses to forward their WPI email, it is at their own risk for losing data and compromising confidentiality.

Alumni Forwarding Service Instructions:

Alumni may contact the IT Service Desk to provide an email address that mail received at username@alum.wpi.edu should be forwarded to.

Once the forwarding address is added by ITS, the alum will receive a message from DuoCircle requesting opt in to the forwarding service so that email will not be caught in SPAM.

Forwarded Mail Lands in "Junk"

If you don't see the forwarded message from your  @alum.wpi.edu in your alternate email inbox, check the junk mail. If your forwarding address has the exact or very similar username as your  @alum.wpi.edu address, “impersonation” detection within your email provider may be triggered to classify the message as junk.  Adding the sending address @alum.wpi.edu to your safe senders list should enforce delivery to the Inbox. For Outlook Web, Safe Senders in Email instructions are linked in Related Articles; other providers should have instructions in their "Help."
