You can follow the instructions below to backup your browser information for the most popular internet browsers. Once you have backed the file up, you can upload it to the new image or a different machine and then import the file to your browser.

Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the Customize and Control Google Chrome menu in the upper right corner.
  3. Select bookmarks.
  4. Select the bookmarks manager.
  5. Click the Organize menu in the upper right corner.
  6. Choose export bookmarks to HTML file.
  7. Choose a location to save the file.
  8. Click Save.

Firefox

  1. Start Firefox.
  2. Click the Bookmarks button.
  3. Select Show All Bookmarks.
  4. From the toolbar on the Library window, click Import and Backup.
  5. Choose Export Bookmarks to HTML.
  6. Choose a location to save the file.
  7. Click Save.

Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the three dots in the upper right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Import info from another browser.
  5. Click Export to a file.
  6. Choose a location to save the file.
  7. Click Save.

Internet Explorer

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. Click start in the upper right corner.
  3. Where it says Add to favorites, click the down arrow.
  4. Select Import and Export, and then click Next.
  5. Click Export Favorites and then click Next.
  6. Click Favorites and then click Next.
  7. Type the name of the file that you want to export the favorites to.

Safari

  1. Start Safari.
  2. Click the gear in the upper right corner.
  3. Select the Show Menu Bar.
  4. In the upper left corner, click File.
  5. Click Export Bookmarks.
  6. Choose a location to save the file.
  7. Click Save.
