• On-Campus machine must be powered on and connected to the network
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Installed
  • Permission to remotely access the machine
  • Hostname of the machine to remote into
  • WPI Network or use of the VPN if off-campus
Install Microsoft Remote Desktop
Using the Apple App Store, search for and download the Microsoft Remote Desktop App. It is free to download with your iTunes account.


  1. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop
  2. Press the + (plus) icon
  3. Enter the following information:
    • PC Name:
    • User Account: Ask when required
    • Friendly Name: Enter a name to identify the machine by
  4. Press Add

Access Remote Machine

  1. Double-click on the desired machine
  2. Enter your WPI Email Address and password and press Continue
  3. Press Continue
