The WPI Guest Wireless network is encrypted, and therefore restricted for our data security. WPI offers two types of Guest Wireless Networks, Sponsored Guest Wireless and Self-Service Guest Wireless.
Sponsored Guest Wireless
The Sponsored Guest Network is restricted to visitors/guests of WPI employees attending meetings/conferences, giving presentations or lectures, etc. They are also designated for large campus events, including NSO, Touch Tomorrow, etc.
Faculty or staff must request the Guest Pass. Once the request has been processed, the sponsoring faculty or staff member will receive an email with the username/password for the Guest Network.
Self-Service Guest Wireless
The Self-Service Guest passes are designated for visitors to the campus, including friends or family members. Visitors can only use the Self-Service Guest Network 3 days in a 7 day period.
Users must have the ability to receive SMS Text messages to their devices. When a visitor requests a Self-Service Guest pass, the login credentials will be texted to their mobile phone.
