Why?

On September 27 Google reported that a critical zero-day vulnerability in its Chrome browser. Google credited Clement Lecigne of Google’s Threat Analysis Group for discovering it. Please see the Vulnerability in Chrome and Firefox link for more details [Actions].

Impact

All WPI-managed computers and laptops will automatically receive the updates, including labs and podiums in classrooms and conference rooms.

Benefits

Updating the browsers will prevent cybercriminals from exploiting this vulnerability.

Action Needed

Please allow the updates to occur on WPI-managed machines. It is also recommended you update Chrome and Firefox browsers on your personal devices. Instructions on how to update Chrome and Firefox are in Actions.
