Why?
WPI IT is conducting a campus-wide initiative to refurbish emergency phones. This includes testing hardware and addressing any outdated or malfunctioning equipment. Additionally, a new phone system is being installed for Campus Police.
Details
Some blue-light emergency phones have been taken offline for repair. These have been covered, and labelled as "out of order" with the label also displaying the WPI Police Department Emergency Line 508-831-5555.
The repair process is ongoing. and blue-light emergency phones will be uncovered when they are fully returned to service.
As a reminder, in the case of an emergency WPI Police can be reached by:
- Using a blue-light emergency phone.
- Calling x5555 from any campus phone.
- Calling 508-831-5555 from a mobile phone.
