Why?
Updates do not occur if your computer has not been turned on and connected to the WPI network.
Impact
These updates could take a significant amount of time, depending on the length of absence and backlog of updates.
Benefits
Ensuring your computer is update helps protect it, your data, and WPI.
Action Needed
Off-campus, connect to VPN periodically to ensure updates are performed. When returning to campus, plan time to install updates. The updates will begin once you are connected. For regular updates, control the timing -- for example, check for updates in the morning so you are not interrupted during the day.
Details
When running a significant number of operating system updates, your computer may reboot. You may also need to restart your computer and/or refresh to see additional updates.
