The WPI Information Technology Service Desk serves as frontline support for students and employees encountering IT-related challenges in their day to day at WPI. The Service Desk offers immediate assistance and problem resolution, ensuring minimal downtime and frustration. Skilled student workers and staff professionals provide guidance, training, and technical support, empowering users to navigate technology effectively. Incident tracking and documentation enable continuous improvement, and the Service Desk's proactive approach enhances overall productivity by swiftly addressing IT issues and questions. The Service Desk is available to assist by email using its@wpi.edu, by phone using 1-508-831-5888 or by visiting on campus in the Gordon Library

Software Installations

WPI makes available a variety of academic software. The Service Desk can assist with installing this software on WPI provided machines and personal machines (if licensing allows). A list of available software can be found in the Software Library on The Hub

Account Access and Recovery

When joining the WPI community, either as a student or employee, an account will be generated and provided automatically. If users experience any trouble accessing their account while following the log in instructions, the Service Desk can assist! If locked out of an existing account or if there are ever any questions about access, the Service Desk works in collaboration with the Registrar, Talent & Inclusion and other areas of IT to investigate any potential account issues in order to resolve them as quickly as possible. 

Network Connectivity

Access to the internet is a critical part of everyday life at WPI. IT Services prides itself on its network infrastructure and takes greats steps to make getting online easy for our community. The Service Desk is available to assist getting devices connected to the network whenever help is needed.  

Everyday IT Needs

Technology is everywhere at WPI and so the Service Desk is ready to assist whenever an IT need arises. We are happy to help with any issue, big or small, that may interrupt the daily experience at WPI. The Service Desk is also available to answer any questions or concerns about IT policies and procedures which are user impacting.
